IL Armed Forces Legal Aid Network Update

IL-AFLAN is hosting two training events in April 2019 for attorneys working as part of the network.
- April 5: Child Support Issues at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. Doors open at 9:30 am, training begins at 10 am sharp, with a planned end of 3 pm. CLE credit will be provided, as will snacks and lunch. Many thanks to Anne Dunbar and Linda Rothnagel for lining up some great speakers. Topics include: child support modifications, driver’s license suspension for non-payment, advocacy and defenses in the non-payment contempt process, federal and state protections for withholding/garnishments, bank account liens, paternity issues. - April 10: Reading Medical Records at 209 S. LaSalle St., Chicago from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Dr. John Mundt from Jesse Brown VA will present and take questions. Thank you to Kathryn Socha for helping plan this and securing the venue. Light snacks will be provided. Topics include: differential diagnosis, what does a medical record say/not say, ICD codes, clinical v. forensic diagnosis, SOAP format in record keeping.
