IEJF Awards More than $4M in Grants to Support Statewide Legal Aid Programs
The IEJF Grants Committee has been in full-swing lately, recently awarding more than $4M in FY22 grants across three program areas: Eviction Help Illinois, Illinois Armed Forces Legal Aid Network (IL-AFLAN) and New Leaf Illinois.
- Eviction Help Illinois: With funding from the Illinois Department of Human Services, the IEJF awarded $2.8M in grants to 11 nonprofit organizations to provide legal information, advice, representation and mediation services to Illinoisans impacted by the threat of eviction due to the COVID 19 pandemic. - IL-AFLAN: The Illinois Access to Justice Council approved $894,000 in grants to 7 non-profit organizations to operate a statewide hotline and provide legal services to veterans, military personnel and their families. View the full grants list here.
- New Leaf Illinois: The IEJF awarded $1.29M in grants to more than 20 nonprofit organizations across the state to ensure impacted Illinoisans can access legal services to expunge their cannabis records, as outlined in the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act. View the full grants list here.
