IEJF Awards More than $1.3 M in Grants to Address Bread & Butter Legal Issues

The Illinois Equal Justice Foundation has awarded more than $1.3M in FY22 Civil Legal Aid grants to 23 non-profit organizations across Illinois. These grants will support programs working on the top ‘Bread and Butter’ legal issues Illinoisans face: family law, housing, consumer fraud and access to government benefits.
Grant recipients include large-scale legal aid organizations such as Land of Lincoln Legal Aid and Prairie State Legal Services, who together serve Illinoisans in more than 90 counties; as well as community-based groups such as Chicago House and Social Service Agency, James B. Moran Center for Youth Advocacy and Farmworker and Landscaper Advocacy Project.
Here is a full list of FY22 grant recipients.
These grants were made possible by the state appropriation for civil legal aid that passes through the budget of the Office of the Illinois Attorney General.
