IEJF Awards $1.3 M in Civil Legal Aid Grants to Help Struggling Illinoisans Get Critical Legal Help
The IL Equal Justice Foundation Board of Directors has unanimously approved $1.3M in grants to 22 Illinois civil legal aid providers for FY21. Grants were made possible with funding from the state appropriation for civil legal aid housed in the Office of the Attorney General.
To help ensure the greatest impact, grants were awarded to both large organizations that provide a breadth of legal services like Legal Aid Chicago, Prairie State Legal Services and Land of Lincoln Legal Aid, as well as community-based groups like Beyond Legal Aid, Farmworker & Landscaper Advocacy Project , the Dispute Resolution Institute in Carbondale and the University YMCA in Champaign that bring the law where people live.
