JUSTICE FOR ALL

The Illinois Equal Justice Foundation funds civil legal aid programs across
the state, ensuring that all residents have equal access to the justice system.

These programs build stronger communities and a stronger Illinois.

IEJF Annual Meeting Roundup

Tackling big funding decisions while sharing some important hellos and goodbyes.  That was the focus of the IEJF’s first virtual Annual Meeting, held last month.

In terms of funding, the IEJF Board approved $1.46M in cannabis expungement grants, as well as $1.4M in Year 4 grants for the Illinois Armed Forces Legal Aid Network.

We also bid a fond farewell to several longtime board members: Joseph Torres, Winston & Strawn; Rich Levin, BofA Securities; Deb Golden, GATX Corporation; and Christine Castellano, The Andersons.

And finally, we were excited to usher in three new board members:  Shanin Farmer, Attorney at Law;  Faiq Mihlar, Heavner, Beyers & Mihlar LLC; and Hal Oakley, Schmiedeskamp Robertson Neu & Mitchell LLP. We look forward to working with them in the coming year!
