The Illinois Equal Justice Foundation funds civil legal aid programs across
the state, ensuring that all residents have equal access to the justice system.

These programs build stronger communities and a stronger Illinois.

As a USAF combat medic in Vietnam, James helped bring home American airmen shot down in combat.  Unfortunately, he now needed help.

James called the IL-AFLAN hotline and Steve, a CARPLS attorney helped him clear up an old eviction case that was impacting his ability to receive a VA mortgage. Here’s how he describes the life-changing impact of IL-AFLAN:

“I felt confident in his answers and explanation. While I’m currently under care at Hines VA for combat PTSD, Steve was able to ease my anxiety and stress level to the point I could listen and understand. As we succeeded in our missions during the war, Steve succeeded in his help to me. Thank you. God Bless you and the team at IL-AFLAN.”
