Changing of the Guard

At the June 17th Annual Meeting, the Illinois Equal Justice Foundation bid adieu to four amazing Board members: Karen Hasara, Carolyn Clift, Dana Green and Ted Chung. Both Ms. Hasara and Ms. Clift served two terms as President of the organization and Ms. Green served two terms as the Audit Chair. Ms. Hasara is the former Mayor of Springfield, Ms. Clift is recently retired as the Senior Diversity Officer for Healthcare Services Corporation, Ms .Green is retired as General Counsel of Walgreens and Mr. Chung practices law at Jones Day. All will be missed for their dedication to the IEJF’s mission of increasing access to the justice system. The Board thanks them for their service.
The Board also welcomed two new members at the Annual Meeting: Deborah Golden of GATX Corporation and Lauren Meachum of the Law Offices of Meachum & Starck. Both Ms. Golden and Ms. Meachum were elected to three year terms and will begin their work as members of the IEJF Grant Committee. Maria Wynne of Leadership Greater Chicago, Jennifer Shaw of the Shaw Law Group and Joe Strubbe of Vedder Price all renewed their Board terms for another three years.
Finally, the Board elected Daniel Broadhurst of Natoma Partners as President, Peggy Daley of Duff & Phelps as Vice President, Rich Levin of Bank of America/Merrill Lynch as Treasurer and Joseph Torres of Winston and Strawn as Secretary of the organization. Officer terms are one year. All officers are serving a second term except Mr. Levin who is serving a third term as Treasurer.
