The Foundation Illinois Equal Justice (IEJF, for its acronym in English) announced this month the launch of New Leaf Illinois , an alliance of 20 organizations that provide legal services and free advice to help people clean up their convictions for marijuana , reported the organization in a statement. The new resource was made possible by the specific funding requirements of the Illinois State Cannabis Legalization Act of 2019.”Communities of color have endured the impact of the discriminatory application of the war on drugs for four decades,” said Gray Mateo-Harris, IEJF board member and partner at the Fox Rothschild LLP law firm, in the statement.
