Nearly a year after it became legal, a new group will work to clear old marijuana-related convictions. The Illinois Equal Justice Foundation is launching “New Leaf Illinois.” The goal is to clear roughly 71 thousand marijuana convictions that were not automatically removed. State representative Jehan Gordon-Booth says cannabis convictions have “collateral consequences”.
