ALTON — The Illinois Equal Justice Foundation has approved $263,133 in grant funding to the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation in Alton, East St. Louis, Carbondale, Springfield and Champaign.

The award is part of $1.3 million in grants awarded by IEJF to 21 civil legal aid providers across the state. The grants were made possible with funding from the state appropriation for civil legal aid housed in the Office of the Attorney General.

The Land of Lincoln will receive $213,133 to provide representation to low-income people in 65 counties on family, housing and consumer law cases.
