Illinois has also been expunging the records of people who were arrested for what is no longer illegal use of marijuana and there is a move at the federal level to do the same, to rollback federal laws against marijuana. There is a new state-funded initiative to help people try to get some of those convictions overturned and get those records expunged. It’s called New Leaf Illinois and here to talk about this effort with us Andrew Sharp who is the content director for Illinois Legal Aid Online and Gray Mateo Harris, who is a board member with Illinois Equal Justice Foundation and a partner at Fox Rothschild law firm as well.
