Eviction Help Illinois Grants
The Illinois Equal Justice Foundation and the IL Department of Human Services (IDHS) have partnered to develop a statewide legal aid and mediation response to the impending eviction crisis. Round 1 grants were approved in March and run through June 30, 2021. Preparations for Round 2 Eviction Help Illinois grants has begun. Included in Governor Prtizker’s and IDHS’ FY 22 budget plans at $3M, the Round 2 appropriation will need to go through the state legislative budget process. Grant awards are dependent on inclusion in and approval of the FY 22 state budget.
Applications for Round 2 grants are due by close of business on May 7, 2021. Funding will not support Early Resolution Programs funded by other government sources, such as Cook County Legal Aid for Housing & Debt. All applicants must be GATA-certified, 501 c 3 organizations in good standing.
