Ellen Rheaume is the Program Manager for the Illinois Armed Forces Legal Aid Network (IL-AFLAN).
She has extensive experience in legal advocacy for veterans and underserved communities. Ellen most recently served as the Supervisor of Legal Aid Chicago’s Veterans’ Rights Project, where she led efforts to provide critical legal services to veterans in need. In this role, she also served on the Legal Services Corporation’s Veterans Task Force. Ellen previously volunteered at Cabrini Green Legal Aid in Chicago, and, while residing in California, she worked on capital habeas cases as a staff attorney at the Habeas Corpus Resource Center and handled criminal appeals in private practice.
Ellen earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and her B.A. from Wellesley College, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and California, and she is also an accredited VA claims representative.
