Shanin Farmer is an in-house lawyer with experience advising senior executives on complex initiatives and risk mitigation strategies at Fortune 500 companies. Shanin most recently served as Associate General Counsel, EMEA and Counsel, Corporate, Finance & Securities at Ingredion Incorporated where she managed the Office of the Corporate Secretary advising on matters including board governance, SEC and other regulatory compliance, strategic M&A, data privacy, tax and treasury, in addition to overseeing legal counsel for all matters in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Shanin began her legal career at Accenture and served 12-years as part of the legal team in Chicago in positions of increasing responsibility. Prior to joining Ingredion, Shanin was Director of Legal Services, Communication, Media & Technology at Accenture where she led a team of lawyers supporting the multi-billion dollar North American business on a wide range of consulting and outsourcing transactions.
Ms. Farmer is an exceptional developer of teams and passionate champion of diversity and inclusion. She has been a steadfast advocate for diversity in the legal profession and served as a member of the NAMWOLF In-House Advisory Counsel. Shanin also served as a member of the board of the Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago from 2010 to 2019. She is a member of the Economic Club Chicago, the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and is an NACD Governance Fellow.
Shanin holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Illinois at Chicago and Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the John Marshall Law School.
