The Illinois Equal Justice Foundation funds civil legal aid programs across
the state, ensuring that all residents have equal access to the justice system.
These programs build stronger communities and a stronger Illinois.
Take Action Now: Legislative Spring Break
Calling all supporters of state funding for civil legal aid! The Illinois Equal Justice Foundation’s civil legal aid appropriation was NOT included in the stop-gap budget. Two years without a state appropriation means that civil legal aid services that help keep families and seniors housed, safe and economically independent are in jeopardy. Add potential cuts in federal funding and it equals major crisis for people seeking civil justice. The time to speak out is NOW!
This week is the state legislative Spring Break. It is the perfect time to reach out to your state senators and representatives while they are in their home districts.
The IEJF encourages you to use the Advocacy Tool Box on its website to contact your state legislators and Governor Rauner in support of reinstated funding for civil legal aid. It takes less than 5 minutes to make your voice heard. If not now, then when? TAKE ACTION!
