Funding Categories
 

The Illinois Equal Justice Foundation is committed to helping organizations that reach as many of Illinois’ low-income residents as possible. The Foundation provides funding in five distinct categories identified in the Illinois Equal Justice Act. To learn more about the grants the Foundation makes, please click on the funding categories below.

Legal Information to the Public: to provide legal information to members of the public with civil legal needs via the internet, libraries and other community-based settings;

Self-Help Legal Assistance Projects: to provide Illinois residents using the court system with legal advice and brief legal assistance to help them effectively navigate the legal system;

Mediation Services: to provide mediation services to Illinois residents involved in civil legal disputes;

Telephone Advice & Referral Services: to offer legal information, advice and referral to callers through legal aid hotlines;

Civil Legal Assistance: to support the salaries of staff attorneys and/or paralegals providing direct legal services to low-income individuals and families;
