Margarite Wypychowski has more than fourteen years of experience in public policy communications. She is currently a Senior Communications Manager at NORC at the University of Chicago, one of world’s foremost independent research institutions. In this role, she promotes NORC’s new research products and advances the organization’s thought leadership in innovation.
Prior to joining NORC, Margarite served as Senior Vice President of Grisko LLC, an integrated communications and public affairs agency. While at Grisko, Margarite led successful communications initiatives across multiple industries, including spearheading an external relations plan to educate key stakeholders on ComEd’s $2Billion Smart Grid investment; developing a city-wide communications plan that built media and public support for the historic Smoke-Free Chicago ordinance; and overseeing the state-wide rollout of a major prescription drug assistance program.
In particular, she worked with the Chicago and Illinois Bar Foundations to create the Equal Justice Illinois Campaign, an effort that increased state funding for legal aid by 600 percent.
Margarite is a member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. She previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Greater Chicago, and as a tutor with Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.
She received her M.S. in Public Service Management and a B.A. in English and Political Science from DePaul University.
